About Minky
Minky van der Walt (she/her), is a Registered Music Therapist, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor.
Through Tempo Therapy & Consulting, Minky is a passionate advocate for supporting clinicians to connect to their humanity as a foundation for personal wellbeing and professional excellence in rewarding, sustainable careers.
Drawing on 25 years of clinical experience across medical, educational, community, and private settings, Minky brings a responsive, integrative approach, weaving together neuroscience, compassion, and collective care with therapeutic arts, music, and somatic practices to support connection, transformation, and growth.
Minky’s work is informed by 15 years as a child and family trauma therapist, and trainer into child protective services, her own experiences of moral distress, and witnessing the impact of systemic failures on health professionals.
Minky is based in the beautiful lutruwita / Tasmania where she loves playing music, gardening, and being in, on or near the ocean.
